7 New Screenshots of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga Revealed & Press Release

Hot off the heels of the incredibly well-received announcement trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga at Xbox’s E3 2019 presentation, TT Games dropped three in-game screenshots of the anticipated game on their Twitter.  Normally, three screenshots aren’t much of a cause for celebration, but the visual fidelity of this new game is absolutely amazing.  We also have four additional screenshots from the press release, which you can see below.  It’s very clear that TT has spent a lot of work and effort improving their engine, allowing for more dynamic visuals.  We can see all sorts of improvements below: sand and dirt collect on characters, as we can see with the dust caked around R2-D2’s feet (are they feet?), the shot of the Rebel Cruiser from the prequel trilogy above what I assume is Naboo is absolutely spectacular, with some excellent lighting reflecting off of the left wing of the cruiser, and most notably, ENDOR!  Endor looks amazing here, with some amazing dynamic lighting peeking through the leaves of the gigantic trees.  We can also see Hoth in the screenshots below.

The final thing worth pointing out is that imperfections in the LEGO bricks, which are incredible.  When LEGO bricks are created, the machines they are molded in can create tiny imperfections, such as the little raised line going down the Bantha’s horn and a little raised dot in Boba Fett’s radar.  This is an incredible jump towards having photorealistic LEGO characters in the games.  Take a look at the screenshots and press release below!  There’s some great info from this–notably, it’s very exciting to have a campaign in which you can explore the different movies in whatever order you want.  Some LEGO game fans have expressed annoyance towards being locked into a linear campaign, whereas the original LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga allowed players to play the movies in any order they wanted.
