There is no boss battle in Ancient Egypt.

Ancient Egypt Missions

Quests will appear on your map screen as small text bubble icons. Some missions may appear as locked icons, these are missions that require you to complete other missions in the hub area, or elsewhere in Chronopolis to unlock.

Pyramid-Life Crisis

  • Unlocks: Living Mummy

Following the events in the mummy’s tomb, the Living Mummy is feeling guilty about being the bad guy. He asks for your help in giving heroism a try. Follow along as he attempts to free citizens under attack, although frankly they aren’t too happy to be saved by another mummy. Realizing his efforts may be in vain given his appearance, Mummy asks you to seek out Morbius, who can be found in Medieval England. (NOTE: This quest is required to unlock Gwenpool Mission #6).

A Friend in Aracnido is a friend in Arac-Deed-O

  • Unlocks: Aracnido Jr.

Are you ready for a wrestler-style Spider-Man? Wrestling champ Arachnido Jr. is waiting on his wrestling partner and he hopes you’re the one who fits the bill. As you climb into the ring with him, you quickly realize he didn’t mean “partner” but “opponent.” Before the two of you can start to wrestle, however, it turns out there’s a third corner to this ring: one holding scorpions. Take on what feels like an endless wave of scorpions alongside Arachnido Jr. Help yourself out by picking a character who is resistant to their toxins and instead of a huge challenge you’ll simply have two minutes of mindlessly blowing up your opponents until the bell rings and the match is over.

Sandman Shuffle

  • Unlocks: Sandman

Sandman and Rhino have been passing their time in Egypt by playing a new game, but Rhino has gotten tired of playing and Sandman wants a new opponent. The game is simple: Sandman makes some sandcastles for you to look at, then, in a swirl of sand, adds one to the mix. Hit the one that wasn’t there before. Win three rounds to win the game and discover what a sore loser Sandman really is.

Ancient Egypt Puzzles

Puzzles will appear on your map as green puzzle pieces. These puzzles require a whole host of abilities or characters to solve, and usually unlock Gold Bricks! Here is a recap of this area’s puzzles:

Pranking the Dig Site

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

The archaeologist found in this room wants your help pranking the other archaeologists, and certainly gives you plenty of material to work with. Destroy the bricks on the left side of the room to create a rune pad. Tracing the rune there will add glasses to the statue. Next to that is a rope pull which will give you bricks to build an elegant mustache on the statue. On the right side of the room is a fuse box puzzle that will release the supplies the prankster planned to use. Destroy these and add them to her statue as well. She can barely contain her laughter as she pays you in a gold brick and asks you to be off before the other archaeologists arrive.

Rune Recovery

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Within the pyramid you’ll find a push track and these four runes on the back wall. The push track has four ends, each with a quick task to perform to reveal the rune for that end and the statue found there. Working counter-clockwise from the rear wall, you’ll need to use levitate magic to turn the water into a cloud, destroy silver bricks and levitate the stars up to the wall, uncover pieces in two dig piles and build them, and use a rope pull to unfold the accordion map there. Now that you’ve revealed the runes and the statues, you’ll notice the statues do not match the runes in the section that they are in. Push the statues around until each one is in by the right rune, illuminating the rune on the back wall. When all four runes are lit, the last piece of the puzzle will rise, giving you your gold brick reward.

Building a Better Mummy

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

In the next tomb you’ll see an image of a sarcophagus on the back, along with three indicators – electricity, heart, and head. These are the components needed to activate the sarcophagus. On the right side of the room are three urns. Levitate these to shake out the contents, creating dig piles. Dig through these and one of them will reveal a skeleton head, which you levitate over to the sarcophagus. On the left side of the room are a sequence of handle switches. The left one needs to be rebuilt after destroying the silver blocks on top of this. Use these to arrange the four quadrants of the puzzle above them into a heart shape, unlocking the heart piece. After the head and heart are in place, an electrical charge panel appears. Zap that until it is fully charged and you’ll release the mummy from her sarcophagus. She repays you for fixing her with a gold brick!

Deep in the Pyramid

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

The first part of this puzzle is simply gaining access to the pyramid. There is a chi dragon to the right of the entrance (just outside of this screen shot). Charge that up with Chi and the pyramid doors will open to reveal…

… a lot of beams of light. Although it looks like a lot, you’ll use the turnable reflection stations to move the beam around, hitting targets on the back wall. As you can see, the container on the back wall has three power lines running to it. The two side beams will end up hitting targets on either side of it, while the beam coming down from the ceiling will be used for the center one. But, in order to manipulate the center one, you have to melt those gold bricks along the back wall. This will give you bricks to build a gyrosphere switch, which you’ll use a character to turn, bringing up the reflection station for the center beam (which is already aimed in the right direction). Light up all three power lines and collect your treasure.

Tribute to the Scarab Kingdom

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

An unsuspecting door in the middle of the desert – what could go wrong? Well, you can’t open it for one, nor are you meant to. Destroy the broken wall… er, floor to the left of it to get pieces that you use to start building a sculpture. With that broken, there will be a clue to start following a trail where the floor was. Follow this to uncover a dig pile with more pieces to the sculpture. That leads to another clue to start tracking another dig pile, which gives you parts to put strength handles on the scarab door. Pull that open to get the rest of the pieces so you can finish your sculpture of… a scarab. The scarab uncovers your gold brick. That’s not creepy at all, no.

The Word of the Mummy

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Again, the first part of this puzzle is gaining access to the sphinx. This time there is a clue indicator to the left. Use tracking to follow the path and eventually unearth a switch that opens the door.

Inside you’ll find a floor full of symbols and a switch to activate them. As you might expect, stepping on the wrong symbol leads to your doom… or at least two tough scorpions coming out that you have to fight before you start over again. On the three walls there are arches with symbols on them. Follow the path laid out by those symbols, working from left to center to right and you’ll clear the proper path, opening the sarcophagus and freeing the mummy there, and the gold brick that has made his close quarters a bit uncomfortable.

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

For this puzzle you will play a game of Dungball. You activate the game at the control at the end of the pit and then the game switches to an overhead view of the arena. Within the pit you are one of the dung beetles and your job is to get the dungball from its drop point into the goal at the other end. There are a few scarabs in the pit with you that will try to stop you, although they aren’t very challenging. The bigger part of the challenge is keeping the momentum going on the dungball enough that it can go up the incline before dropping in the goal. You can only get at the goal from one direction too, so if it catches on the side you’re going to be turning the ball around for another pass. Make three goals to win your gold brick (Dungball counts towards the Minigame Master challenge).

Ancient Egypt Races

Races will appear on your map as a checkered flag icon. Some races require specific vehicles or abilities (like flight or web swing). Here is a full recap of this hubs races:

Van Race

  • Unlocks: Red Guardian

This race requires a van to participate. The beginning of this race will have you wondering why there are so many taxis in ancient Egypt, but the real trouble comes when the course twists to the left in the Old West and you run the risk of falling off the road to the right, down to the creek below.  Just be cautious when you get to that point. Two minutes is more than enough time to make it through the course’s 45 targets, so use caution rather than speed to stay on course and take the prize.

Motorcycle Race

  • Unlocks: Rhino

(NOTE: This race is unavailable until the mission “Sandman Shuffle” has been completed) This race requires a motorcycle to participate. This is another of the less forgiving missions, giving you 1:15 to get through 35 targets as you make your way through Egypt, Manhattan Noir, Manhattan, and finally Wakanda. Try to make every second count and look out for obstacles that your bike can get caught up on far too easily.

Ancient Egypt Gwenpool Mission

Some areas of Chronopolis have Gwenpool Missions hidden away that require you to beat main missions in other hubs. Here’s a recap for this hub’s Gwenpool missions:

Simulation Situation

S.H.I.E.L.D. has built their new training headquarters in Ancient Egypt and want you to give it a try. Read our guide on Gwenpool Mission #2 for more information!

Ancient Egypt Stan Lee Rescue

Stan Lee is in trouble and he needs your help! Find him on the map by locating the Stan Lee icon. You can typically hear him crying out for help when you are close by! Here’s how to save Stan in this Chronopolis Hub area:

Of all the ways Stan Lee could possibly get into trouble in Ancient Egypt, being abducted by aliens wasn’t even close to being on my list. Stan is at the top of one of the pyramids, but a UFO has appeared and is attempting to beam Stan aboard. Disrupt the ship by destroying the silver bricks on the bottom of it, which you then build into a gravity well. Hit that with one of Star Lord’s gravity mines and the bottom of the ship comes flying off, leaving Stan alone and free.

Ancient Egypt Challenge Items

Chronopolis is packed with fun challenges that allow you to unlock vehicles. These challenges can be very difficult to complete! Here’s a list of all the Challenge items we’ve found in this Chronopolis hub:

  • Tiddles:  Sitting on top of one of the Great Pyramids
  • Top Hat Toppler: On top of the Sphinx

Secrets & Easter Eggs

  • Visit this area while playing as Kang to unlock the “Back Where It All Began” Trophy or Achievement
