Manhattan Noir Boss Battle

Some of the many hub areas in Chronopolis feature a secret boss battle! To unlock the hidden boss, complete all the quests, races, puzzles, ect! Boss Battles will appear as a BOOM! icon on your map.

Shocker shows up in one of the area’s puzzle missions before making his getaway, only to come back at the climax of Manhattan Noir. His fight is relatively simple: he summons minions who are cleared easily, then leaps in to combat himself. His leaping in makes him vulnerable, and his health goes down quickly. After two or three cycles you should have him down.

Manhattan Noir Missions

Quests will appear on your map screen as small text bubble icons. Some missions may appear as locked icons, these are missions that require you to complete other missions in the hub area, or elsewhere in Chronopolis to unlock.

See You In the Funny Papers

  • Unlocks: J. Jonah Jameson

Fitting for the noir setting, J. Jonah Jameson has a mission for you: one of the locals is attempting to set a world record swimming laps around Kang’s citadel and he wants photos. Go find the bug-faced alien in the water and snap a picture of him swimming. The easiest approach is to get close to Kang’s citadel and then go into photo mode (with a character with a camera like Spider-Man or Iron Man), which will show you an indication on the screen of where your target is. Move toward that location and then go into photo mode again. After a few tries, the photo will be yours. No matter how good it is, you can be sure Jameson will hate it.

Mommy Dearest

  • Unlocks: Wiccan

Young Avengers Wiccan and Hulkling are worried that cosmic being “Mother” has escaped and need your help to track her down. Follow them through the streets of Manhattan Noir until they come to a potential location, then interrogate the local citizens until you find her. You’ll know her when you do: she’s the one telling you to eat brussel sprouts and asking if you’ve done your homework. Once you know you have the right person, attack her. She’ll summon minions, but she’s really not a tough fight. The worst thing about it is because Wiccan and Hulkling can’t seem to get the spell right to entrap her, you’ll have to go through the process three times.

Manhattan Noir Puzzles

Puzzles will appear on your map as green puzzle pieces. These puzzles require a whole host of abilities or characters to solve, and usually unlock Gold Bricks! Here is a recap of this area’s puzzles:

On the Waterfront

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Waterfront Manhattan Noir WalkthroughAlong the river you’ll find a bit of debris that can be destroyed, revealing one of Strange’s rune platforms. Trace the rune to unlock a treasure chest hidden among the debris, which holds a golden brick.

Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

bakery Manhattan noir LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

The family bakery has a delicious gold brick on display in the window, but how to get it? Climb up the fire escape to the first level where you’ll find some boxes to destroy. Build a bumper pad out of those. Then head back down to the street where you’ll notice the newspaper cart across the street from the bakery is on fire. Put that out and the remnants of the cart can be transformed into a shield throw pad. Aim your shield to unlock the door and claim your prize (and try to ignore that technically the shield passes through the glass window).

The Getaway

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

getaway Manhattan noir LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2

There’s been a minor car accident in front of the Rennold building. Destroy the car made of silver bricks on the right and then build a deflection pad from what remains. Then take on the two gangster robots on the left side. One of them will leave behind parts to add a machine gun to the side of the remaining car. Get on the deflection pad and aim the machine gun’s fire back at the car, popping the hood and handing over a prized gold brick.

Dial T for Tea

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

A nice lady at the docks needs help with her shipment of industrial sized tea. Use levitation to get the tea bag out of the shipment, and a grapple point to get to the brewing machine, which is in need of repairs before it will work. Finally, levitate the water handle onto a nearby water supply. Finally you have the tea brewing, but look out! Prohibition is being enforced, and that means tea as well. Fend off a few waves of Fisk’s goons (including one of the stealthy ninja swordsmen) before the woman decides it’s best to make like the Revolutionary War and dump the tea in the harbor. She may not get her tea, but she still gives you a gold brick for your trouble.

Murder on the Chronopolis Express

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Manhattan Noir was about to get into the public transportation game before being moved to Chronopolis, which has monorails readily available. Not only is their train no longer useful, but now it’s stuck on the roof of one of the buildings, crashed into a tower. Break some glass and grapple pieces out of the way to get to the train’s energy source, which can be powered by electricity. Then use Strange’s time magic to fix the pieces of the train to get it running again – with one extra boxing glove addition that can break the tower and afford access to the gold brick.

Getting the Drop on You

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

You know how it is: you’re walking along the streets, just minding your own business, when someone goes and drops a gargoyle on you. That’s exactly what Shocker, upset about not being given control of Fisk Tower, is doing here. You’ll need to dodge out of the way of his gargoyles, attempt to find a way to scale the building, and save a fun-loving group of street dancers before getting to go face to face with Shocker. Defeating him almost gives you the chance at his character card, but at the last minute he scoops that up and leaves you a gold brick instead. Curses. Foiled again!

Ill Lit Rooftop

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Noir is easily categorized by its shadowy use of light but someone is seeking to improve that by creating better light sources. Here they want your help in redirecting electricity, first to open a chest so you can power a second source, and then to harness both sources to the same destination. Your reward for this rather simple logic puzzle is a gold brick.

Manhattan Noir Races

Races will appear on your map as a checkered flag icon. Some races require specific vehicles or abilities (like flight or web swing). Here is a full recap of this hubs races:

Rooftop Race

  • Unlocks: Scarlet Spider

While this race begins in Manhattan Noir, it weaves through the airspace of the Hydra Empire before circling around the buildings of Manhattan. You have 1:30 to earn the gold, which is a relatively easy achievement.

Manhattan Noir Gwenpool Mission

Some areas of Chronopolis have Gwenpool Missions hidden away that require you to beat main missions in other hubs. Here’s a recap for this hub’s Gwenpool missions:

Coming soon!

Manhattan Noir Stan Lee Rescue

Stan Lee is in trouble and he needs your help! Find him on the map by locating the Stan Lee icon. You can typically hear him crying out for help when you are close by! Here’s how to save Stan in this Chronopolis Hub area:

Stan is trapped in the upper level of a building toward the corner of Manhattan Noir towards Egypt and the Hydra Empire. Nearby is a pile of dirt to be dug through. Digging reveals a chest which has loose LEGO pieces that can be used to attach a grapple point onto the window near Stan. Pull that window down and he is free. Excelsior!

Manhattan Noir Challenge Items

Chronopolis is packed with fun challenges that allow you to unlock vehicles. These challenges can be very difficult to complete! Here’s a list of all the Challenge items we’ve found in this Chronopolis hub:

  • Tiddles: Located toward the rear of the long warehouse located along the waterfront.

Secrets & Easter Eggs

  • During the fight with Mother (Mission: Mommy Dearest), she says “Mother knows best, listen to your mother.” These are lyrics to the song “Mother Knows Best” from Disney’s Tangled
