Nueva York Boss Battle

Some of the many hub areas in Chronopolis feature a secret boss battle! To unlock the hidden boss, complete all the quests, races, puzzles, ect! Boss Battles will appear as a BOOM! icon on your map.

Nueva York Missions

Quests will appear on your map screen as small text bubble icons. Some missions may appear as locked icons, these are missions that require you to complete other missions in the hub area, or elsewhere in Chronopolis to unlock.

Estate Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

  • Unlocks: Agent Coulson

Unsure of how long the Chronopolis situation will last, S.H.I.E.L.D. is looking to set up a temporary base of operations. Coulson has agents spread all around Chronopolis looking for the perfect location and wants you to get their reports to decide which spot best meets his criteria. For this, you’ll fly around to six different agents in different sections of Chronopolis and then report back. After you determine the right location, Coulson asks you to track down Quake, unlocking her mission.

Captain Amnesia

  • Unlocks: Captain America 2099

Roberta Mendez remembers her name and that her husband works at Alchemax, but she has no other clue as to why she is here, why she was being chased, or why she is dressed like Captain America 2099. Escort her to the Alchemax building to meet her husband, fending off waves of Hydra agents along the way. Reunited with her husband, Roberta’s memory is restored and she’s ready to continue on her mission: tracking down a secret Hydra base. Accompany her to take down the bad guys and discover why her memory got so spotty in the first place.

Symbiote Support

  • Unlocks: Agent Venom

Agent Venom is trying to track down the escaped symbiotes Venom and Carnage, but hasn’t had any luck. Hit the streets and ask around to see if you can figure out where they’ve escaped to. You’ll ask six citizens around Nueva York (and get some really funny answers) before returning to Agent Venom with your results. Piecing together this information leads to Gwenpool Mission #8.

Quake a Picture

  • Unlocks: Quake

(NOTE: This mission is unavailable until you have completed the mission Estate Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) Coulson has assigned Quake to take pictures of the areas around Chronopolis in preparation for their training facility. Unfortunately, her camera is broken and it appears Chronopolis doesn’t include a camera repair shop. Take one of your snap-happy characters and get pictures of Egypt, the Hydra Empire, Hala, Lemuria, and the Old West for Quake’s mission, freeing her up to start working on the training facility, which leads to Gwenpool Mission #2.

Pig Trouble in Little Nueva York

  • Unlocks: Spider-Ham

(NOTE: This indicator for this mission may be challenging to see. The mission giver is located near the Stan Lee rescue for Nueva York) Spider-Ham is a little upset about getting pulled into another dimension, especially because he’s certain his friends are here too. Help him find his friends, fighting off a few waves of enemies along the way. And see if you can’t figure out what’s up with the hat, will you?

Nueva York Puzzles

Puzzles will appear on your map as green puzzle pieces. These puzzles require a whole host of abilities or characters to solve, and usually unlock Gold Bricks! Here is a recap of this area’s puzzles:

Power Down on the Docks

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

When you first come across this puzzle, it’s easy to wonder what’s going on with it. You have three symbols around the container that clearly holds your gold brick. The top one is hovering and flickering in and out. No matter what you do, however, nothing changes it. That’s because these symbols reflect other symbols found at the end of the three nearby docks:

See? This one at the central dock is flickering in and out, like the middle one at the container. Trace its power line into the water and you’ll find a box that requires strength to rip the cover off. Inside is a fuse box. Solve that puzzle and the power is restored. Now to the other two docks. On one side it’s simply a matter of tracing the power source to a button on the wall. On the other one you’ll trace the power line to a floor to be smashed, revealing a floor switch. Once you’ve activated all three, the container opens and you can get your gold brick. Oh, and the citizens are happy their displays are working again.

Rooftop Power Restoration

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Given how electrical and bright Nueva York is, I guess it shouldn’t be a surprise that power restoration is a common theme with these puzzles. In this situation you have a gold brick container on the roof of a building with four power lines going to it. Go to the source on each of the power lines to press a button to restore power. On one you’ll need a double rope pull, the second needs strength to pull off a cover and build the switch, the third stealth to get past cameras, and the fourth requires building an electrical charge box and charging it up to stop the electricity on the floor. Press all four buttons and collect your gold brick.

Right Job, Wrong Side

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Near where you find Quake, you’ll find an unfortunate shop employee who was given the task of locking up for the night but locked herself on the wrong side of the gate. It’s an ethereal lock, which means most efforts won’t work against it. The clue of how to get to her comes when she starts complaining about her car piling up parking tickets.

Use time magic on her car. Taking it forward weighs it down with parking tickets, revealing a rope pull point which you can use to remove the “Do Not Park” sign. Then move it backwards in time, which moves it back a few feet and leaves a befuddled parking attendant. Behind where the car was is a portal indicator. Make the portal there and it puts you inside of the shop. Move onto the rune trace pad and trace the rune to remove the gate, freeing the employee from her accidental prison.

Cybernet Crash

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

The computers have gone haywire due to overuse (and apparent antivirus software expiring). Help resolve the four reported incidents. Start with the haywire directional sign. Use magic to pull it open, pulling out bricks that form a switch. Hit the switch, then hit it again when the indicator is on the green quadrant and the directional sign will be fixed. Next up, the trash dispenser that has buried a poor citizen in refuse. Use the rope pull at the top of it to pull it shut, then levitate the garbage into the second bin. Third, one of the benches is holding a citizen far too high off the ground. Destroy the crate next to it to get bricks to build a handle on the bench, then jump up on the handle to pull the bench down.

The final incident is opposite the computer hologram reporting the issue – the walkway has gone crazy, trapping a citizen on it. Melt the gold panel behind it to get access to the electronics, then charge the electric charge panel to short it out and free her.

Laser Blockade

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

About halfway up the tallest building in Nueva York you’ll find the entryway pictured above, with the tantalizing gold brick behind it. To the left is another entryway that isn’t barred with laser barriers. Head to the back of the room and smash the crate into blocks that are used to build a tech panel. The tech panel puzzle unlocks the vent next to it, which you can use to get into the section with the gold brick. Once you’re in that section you can press the button to remove the lasers to make your exit slightly easier.

People in Glass Bridges Shouldn’t Throw Electricity

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Two glass bridges cross the span of two of the larger buildings in Nueva York. This puzzle is all about mind control. On the lower level you have two minions to control – one has to stand on a floor plate, opening the door for the other to go pull the switch inside. The switch on the left controls which part of the upper bridge has electricity. The switch on the right controls which button is active on the upper bridge. Use these controls to give the minions on the upper side access to one of the buttons, then move to the upper bridge to mind control one of those minions and move them to the button, which opens the door on that side, giving access to a switch. Both switches need to be charged with electricity before you can pull them. Once both switches have been pulled, a container below the upper bridge opens to give you your gold brick.

Sewer Shield Standoff

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

As you enter the maintenance tunnels, you’ll find this odd machine, holding a gold brick. Destroy the gold barrels on the right to build a shield platform, then work the machine from left to right. Turn the crank to stop the radioactive steam, allowing you to repair the machine next to it. Once the machine is repaired, turn the crank again to start the machine back up. Now the vents near the shield switch at the top will open up, allowing you to stand on the shield platform and bounce your shield into the switch. This releases the gold brick!

Patio Gardening

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

On the upper patio of one of the taller buildings of Nueva York you will find a series of dig piles. Dig them up to unearth plants, as well as a couple of other pieces of the puzzle. Make sure you look carefully around and unearth all of the dig piles. You see, when you use the tech panel to turn the water on to water your plants, you’ll discover the pipe is missing three pieces. One of those pieces comes from a crate you unearth in one of the dig piles, one comes from one of the plants closer to the edge, and the third piece comes when the water is turned on and one half of the crops gets water, along with the missing pipe pieces. Complete the pipe and one of your pretty flowers opens up to give you the gold brick.

Nueva York Races

Races will appear on your map as a checkered flag icon. Some races require specific vehicles or abilities (like flight or web swing). Here is a full recap of this hubs races:

Motorcycle Race

  • Unlocks: Vormund

This race requires you hop on your motorcycle and drive through 35 points that wind through Nueva York and Sakaar. There are a couple of tricky turns to look out for, and the climb up the hill from Nueva York to Sakaar is steep and easy for your bike to lose traction on. Hit it just right, however, and this isn’t terribly challenging.

Webslinger Race

  • Unlocks: Spider-UK

This race requires a webslinger in order to participate. As usual, the biggest challenge with the race is making sure your webslinger gets through the target. Otherwise this is a rather simple race that takes you through Nueva York into Medieval England, with 19 targets to get through in just under 2 minutes for the gold.

Nueva York Gwenpool Mission

Some areas of Chronopolis have Gwenpool Missions hidden away that require you to beat main missions in other hubs. Here’s a recap for this hub’s Gwenpool missions:

While they don’t take place in Nueva York, completing the mission “Symbiote Support” unlocks Gwenpool Mission #8: Oscorp Escapade in Manhattan, while finishing “Estate Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” and “Quake a Picture” takes you to Gwenpool Mission #2: Simulation Situation in Ancient Egypt.

Nueva York Stan Lee Rescue

Stan Lee is in trouble and he needs your help! Find him on the map by locating the Stan Lee icon. You can typically hear him crying out for help when you are close by! Here’s how to save Stan in this Chronopolis Hub area:

The people around Nueva York refer to there being trouble in the maintenance tunnels. Well, Stan Lee has certainly found it. You’ll find this gate in the tunnels, with Stan calling out for help behind it. Destroy the crate to the right of the gate to make blocks that build a chi dragon. Energize the dragon and the door opens up. But it’s not that simple – behind the gate are several radioactive A.I.M. soldiers, including a flame-thrower. Take care of them and you’ll see Stan stuck in a gold cage. Melt the gold bricks and free the Man.

Nueva York Challenge Items

Chronopolis is packed with fun challenges that allow you to unlock vehicles. These challenges can be very difficult to complete! Here’s a list of all the Challenge items we’ve found in this Chronopolis hub:

  • Ariel Avenger: A circle of birds is inside one of the taller buildings toward the rear of the section, near the patio puzzle.
  • Billboard: Towards the rear of the zone, near the lower level entrance.
  • Change of Address: You’ll find the citizen behind the first building in the zone.
  • Tiddles Tracker: Inside an industrial structure on the right side of town – you have to fly into the dome to find him.
