Xandar Boss Battle

Some of the many hub areas in Chronopolis feature a secret boss battle! To unlock the hidden boss, complete all the quests, races, puzzles, ect! Boss Battles will appear as a BOOM! icon on your map.

Vulture (Classic)

Remember when Vulture showed up earlier in the game, between Level 2 and 3, and you had to chase him around the city using Spidey? Well, he’s back. He says he has learned some new tricks, but he hasn’t, so this winds up being a rehash of that early battle, only now you have the luxury of using characters that fly instead of just web-slingers. Fly around Xandar until you catch up with him, beat the snot out of him, repeat until he is down.

Xandar Missions

Quests will appear on your map screen as small text bubble icons. Some missions may appear as locked icons, these are missions that require you to complete other missions in the hub area, or elsewhere in Chronopolis to unlock.

  • Unlocks: Taserface

Maybe it’s because of Rocket’s jeering in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 or maybe he’s just coming to his senses, but Taserface is starting to realize his name isn’t exactly intimidating. He asks you to go survey the people to see what they consider a fearful name. You’ll survey six different people, ranging out to the Old West and Nueva York, before reporting back to Taserface so he can determine his new name.

Touchy Feelers

  • Unlocks: Mantis

Mantis realizes the combination of different worlds into Chronopolis has caused stress and anxiety among its citizens. She wishes to use her powers of empathy to help restore calm to their lives. Lead her around to find four different citizens that she can help bring peace to. Much like the previous mission, this requires a little world traveling, so be prepared to head for different lands in your quest to help her get all touchy feely.

Drone Drama

  • Unlocks: Ayesha

It appears the Soverign attempted to keep tabs on Kang by sending out drones, which were subsequently shot down. While they are still active and broadcasting, they cannot fly anymore and Ayesha wants them back before someone gets their hands on Soverign technology. Look at the broadcast screens from the three drones before heading out to their locations to destroy them for her. You’ll head for the Sphinx, front gate of Kun Lun, and Statue of Liberty to destroy the drones, but in an unusual measure (which I really like), the targets aren’t shown on your radar. You have to extrapolate their location based on what you see. It isn’t incredibly challenging, but it’s a nice touch that more missions should offer.

Prime Rib

  • Unlocks: Nova Prime

The Nova Corp agreed to take care of refreshments for a party for the Guardians of the Galaxy, but they have their proverbial plates full and need help collecting food for the party. Search through Xandar (finally, a mission from these folks that doesn’t require traveling all of Chronopolis!) for cupcakes, drinks, and chips, then return them to Nova Prime knowing the refreshments are in good hands. (NOTE: Completing this mission also unlocks Gwenpool Mission #9.

Sister Assistor

  • Unlocks: Nebula

Nebula is having sister issues again. This time, she wants a completely new sister. Use the character customizer to put on a costume that meets her requirements (make sure to give yourself some powers as well to make the rest of the mission a bit easier). Then it’s off for some “sisterly bonding time,” aka fighting waves of bad guys. Nebula will lead you around Xandar looking for trouble, and boy does she find it. Assuming you can help her fight off all the bad guys, she appreciates the sister bonding time and offers to “hang out” again sometime.

  • Unlocks: Yondu

Yondu is upset. He stole some loot and someone stole it from him. Now he wants your help stealing it back (yes, he wants to steal the stolen loot that was stolen from him). Follow him around Xandar, tracking down the thieves and blasting them into studs, retrieving the treasure along the way. For your help, he pledges the support of Clan Yondu to your cause.

Xandar Puzzles

Puzzles will appear on your map as green puzzle pieces. These puzzles require a whole host of abilities or characters to solve, and usually unlock Gold Bricks! Here is a recap of this area’s puzzles:

Xandar Dig

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Inside this weird shaped building is a dig site. In one of the simplest puzzles, you just dig up the chest found there and get your gold brick.

Hexagon Blitz

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

You’ve heard people talking about it, now it’s your chance to try your hand at the popular game that is taking over Xandar! You’ll be given a color pattern to match using the hexagons on the ground. Complete the right pattern three times to win a prize!

Shield Slam

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

On this platform towards the rear of Xandar you’ll find an array of switches, acrobatic poles, and shield bumpers. Ascend up the acrobatic poles to open the shield switch at the top of the left tower, then use the switches to move all of the shield bumpers into position. All bumpers need to be in between the two towers – you’ll need all of them to get your shield to the top switch.

Incarcerated Gold

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Along the rear walkway of Xandar you’ll see a building with a gold brick inside, but bars over the entrance block access to it. Go to the bars, then use tracking to find a way in – in this case, a teleport point. Teleport inside the building and nab the incarcerated brick.

Flying Discharge

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

On top of one of the back buildings in Xandar you’ll find this container. Trace the power line back and you’ll find an electrical station. The trick is that it’s on the side of the building, which means you need a character who can not only charge it, but can also fly (like Thor). Charge the station and the container immediately opens up.

Soccer Shot

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

To the left of Nova Corp HQ you’ll find this soccer cannon and supply of soccer balls. Use a rope pull to free the balls and then load up the ammunition by levitating them into the cannon. As you can see from the battery indicator on the left of the machine, you don’t have enough juice to fire yet though. Pull off the battery cover using strength, and then use tracking to find a supply of parts that can be built into a battery to power the machine. Finally, aim the cannon and try to hit the target on the far side of the field. You have 5 shots before you have to reload. Hit the target and free your gold brick.

Brick Captivity

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Apparently the Nova Corp believe in keeping bricks incarcerated, because you’ll find another one toward the front of the area, along the Asgard border. There’s no way to jimmy the lock on the front of the building, so destroy enough blocks to build a gravity well beneath the building. One well placed gravity mine and you have access to the security wiring. Use telekinesis to move the right wires in place and the front bars will open. Finally, blast open the glass case that’s holding the brick to collect your prize.

Underwater Domicile

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Under the roads at the front of Xandar is a house building project. The man who purchased the house assumes you’re with the construction company that abandoned the project and wants you to assemble his house right now. Slide the pieces into the right order in order to build his house, for which he pays you with a gold brick. You’ll want to note that you have a lot more space here than you actually need. The main piece of the house (on the left side of the picture above) doesn’t actually move, so really you’re just sliding border pieces around that. There are also a lot of clues on the pieces, in the form of patterns and home elements, to help you determine which pieces go next to each other.

The Fountain

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

One citizen talks about how mysterious the fountain at the center of the main walkway is. Of course it is: it holds a gold brick. Right in front of the fountain is a gold plate to be melted, revealing a switch that activates one of the corner lights on the fountain. Your job is to find the similar gold plates revealing switches for the other three corners. The switches can be (and are) a small distance away, with one on top of broken road, one in the water pools, and one among the greenery. Activating all four switches opens the fountain and hands over the gold brick.

Underwater Vault: Gold Brick Edition

  • Unlocks: Gold Brick

Under the water near Xandar you’ll find a vault with five switches. Search the surrounding area for pieces of debris that show you in what order to push the buttons, opening the vault. Inside is a container which needs power. Tracing the power reveals another order for the buttons to be pressed on the inside of the vault. Go back outside and hit the switches in the new order to power up the container and release the gold brick.

Xandar Races

Races will appear on your map as a checkered flag icon. Some races require specific vehicles or abilities (like flight or web swing). Here is a full recap of this hubs races:

Underwater Race

  • Unlocks: Spider-Man (Homemade Suit)

This race takes you through the ruins in the water before heading onto land, skimming the perimeter of the surface, and then heading back into the water. The adjustment from water to land (and more particularly from land back into water) may be a bit rough because of camera angles, but with a three minute goal, you should have enough time to complete the race for the gold.

Boat Race

  • Unlocks: Loki

This race requires a boat in order to participate.

Van Race

  • Unlocks: ?

This race requires a van in order to participate.

Xandar Gwenpool Mission

Some areas of Chronopolis have Gwenpool Missions hidden away that require you to beat main missions in other hubs. Here’s a recap for this hub’s Gwenpool missions:

Dance Off, Bro

The Guardians of the Galaxy are throwing a party for Gamora, but still need to prepare the Milano. Check out our guide for Gwenpool Mission #9.

Xandar Stan Lee Rescue

Stan Lee is in trouble and he needs your help! Find him on the map by locating the Stan Lee icon. You can typically hear him crying out for help when you are close by! Here’s how to save Stan in this Chronopolis Hub area:

Carnivorous Consumption

You’ll hear the citizens of Xandar discuss the carnivorous plant near Nova Corp HQ. Apparently it has a taste for True Believers, as it has eaten Stan “the Man” Lee. Use time magic to move the plant forward in time to break its container, and then back in time until it was more of a sproutling. Then burn its golden roots. It gives up and spits out its prey, and you’ve saved Stan Lee yet again!

Underwater Vault: Stan Lee Edition

Somehow Stan has wound up locked in an underwater vault. Use strength to rip open the wall beside the vault, revealing the fuse box for the lock. Shrink down and solve the fuse box puzzle and you’ll unlock the vault, freeing Stan from captivity.

Xandar Challenge Items

Chronopolis is packed with fun challenges that allow you to unlock vehicles. These challenges can be very difficult to complete! Here’s a list of all the Challenge items we’ve found in this Chronopolis hub:

  • Billboard: At the front of the zone, closest to the water
  • Minigame Madness: The game of Hexagon Blitz counts towards the minigames played
  • Underwater Avenger: A circle of fish in the vault where Stan Lee is trapped.
  • Vibranium Vanquishers: A team of the vibranium soldiers can be found in the back corner of Xandar.
