Two days ago, Apple Inc. announced their new gaming subscription platform, Apple Arcade. Apple Arcade is a pay-monthly subscription service that includes hundreds of games across the iPad, iPhone, Mac, and Apple TV family of platforms. Not many details were released about the service, but a day later, The LEGO Group announced two new mobile games exclusive to the platform: LEGO Brawls and LEGO Arthouse. No information is known about LEGO Arthouse at the time, besides, well, the fact it’s called LEGO Arthouse. Based off the title, we can assume it will probably be a game more dependent on creativity or building rather than combat. The second game, LEGO Brawls, was announced with a small description, gameplay trailer, and some promotional art.
If you head to the Apple Arcade website and scroll down, you’ll find descriptions for many of their upcoming games, including LEGO Brawls. Based off of this description, we know “the blocks will fly in this multiplayer brawler set in the LEGO universe. Players create their own characters, collaborate with teammates to build and control machines, and battle to win.” I’ve seen many people compare this game to the very popular Super Smash Bros. series, but it also looks to incorporate some elements of platformers. We’ll see when it comes out. Apple Arcade debuts this Fall, with LEGO Brawls likely coming on launch or shortly afterwards. Check out the trailer below.
